The President of London4Europe is Catherine West, Labour MP for Hornsey and Wood Green.
Before being elected as an MP Catherine was leader of Islington Council. Following her election to parliament in 2015, Catherine was appointed to Labour’s front bench as a Shadow Foreign Minister. She held this position until June 2017 when she was sacked for voting in favour of Britain staying in the Single Market. In September 2016, she founded the cross-party All-Party Parliamentary Group on UK-EU Relations, seeking to secure a positive and progressive relationship between Britain and the EU. In September 2017, Catherine was elected onto the Parliamentary Select Committee on International Trade. She is currently the Shadow Minister (Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs).
Catherine said: “I’m delighted to take up this honorary position. Londoners overwhelmingly voted to stay in the EU. I believe the UK is stronger, more prosperous and more peaceful as a member of the European Union and I voted against triggering Article 50.
