MPs should vote for the referendum on the terms
19 Dec, 2017

Evening Standard publishes a letter from the Chair

On 19 December 2017 the Evening Standard published a letter from the Chair of London4Europe, Nick Hopkinson under the title "It's possible to change our minds":

On Wednesday MPs will debate the amendment to the EU (Withdrawal) Bill that would provide for a referendum on the terms of Brexit. All should support it - especially MPs for London. We voted Remain, not for any variant of Brexit. The argument for a referendum is simple: no-one takes a project from idea to implementation without reviewing the project plan.

When we know what the terms are, we - the electorate - should have the final say. It would not be a rerun of 2016, but a new vote on the different question of what Brexit actually is and means.
