Student Debate on EU Referendum

As part of L4E’s outreach work Committee Member Richard Newcombe facilitated a debate between Year 12 students at Trinity High School in Woodford Green on the issues surrounding tomorrow’s referendum on membership of the EU. Eight students ( four on each side) debated the issues of remaining or leaving the EU. Richard facilitated the debate by helping the students with  details around the topics of sovereignty, migration, trade, international relations as they made their final preparations.
Each student spoke for 2 1/2 minutes each and then responded to question from other sixth form students who attended. The level of detail in each presentation was exceptional and the quality of presentation was high. All the students in the audience voted and the Remain team won on the quality of their presentation.
